Sustainable Development Goals

The work of the Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Committee of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and specifically with Goals 5 (Gender Equality) and 10 (Reducing Inequalities). The Committee aims to actively contribute to the implementation of relevant policies in the academic environment that will enhance the path towards the achievement of these goals. Specifically:

Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower  all women and girls

Under Goal 5, the Committee incorporates into its strategy the elimination of all forms of discrimination and the elimination of all forms of violence against women, ensuring full and effective participation and equal opportunities for women to assume leadership roles at all levels of decision-making within the academic environment, and the adoption and strengthening of policies aimed at promoting gender equality within the academic community.

Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries

Under Goal 10, the Committee incorporates into its strategy the empowerment and promotion of social and academic inclusion of all members of the academic community regardless of age, gender, disability, race, nationality, origin, religion, or economic or other status, as well as ensuring equal opportunities and reducing the effects of inequalities in the academic environment.
