Student Ombudsman

At the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the independent authority of the Student Ombudsman has been established and is in operation. This institution mediates between students (undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral) and faculty members of all ranks or administrative services.

The Student Ombudsman ensures compliance with legality, academic ethics, and order within the framework of academic freedom, addressing mismanagement cases to safeguard the institution’s smooth operation. The Ombudsman does not intervene in substantive matters of teaching or exam grading but only investigates instances of arbitrariness or ethical violations during examinations (written or oral).

The goal is to resolve issues either through mediation between parties or by referring the matter to the relevant authorities. Any member of the academic community can contact the Ombudsman.
